Gabrele Dipas

Ozieri, 1980

Member of ICoDeS (Group of studies of Interculturality and Decolonial cooperation Africa and Mediterranean) of the University of Seville. Graduated in the multidisciplinary course of Philosophy and Pedagogy at University of Sassari (Italy) concluded with the own thesis:  “Altro da Se o se nell’Altro? L’etica del dialogo dal totalitarismo fonologico alla totalità emotiva.”

Co-founder and ex-CEO at Abracadabra Onlus, a creative cooperative awarded in 2013 by the Regione Autonoma di Sardegna due to “the effective integration between economy, environmental and social sustainability”.

Active in social cooperation since 2004, focuses on the topic of social inclusion denouncing welfarism as a form of discrimination and fighting for the “decategorization of difference”.

In 2014, co-designed and coordinated the international Clandestine Integration project: an experience of interculturality and co-integration in Mediterranean sea. The research carried out during this experience has been part of the conference Atravesando fronteras: realidad y representación en el Mediterráneo promoted by UNIA (International University of Andalusia) with an intervention titled: Interculturality through emotions (2015).

With the participation of the Cooperative Consortium Andalas De Amistade and the Municipality of Sassari, co-founds (and directed for the first year) the center for cooperation and social participation “Coopera”(2012) in Sassari (Italy).

In 2018, he participated in the 6°Encuentro de Sociologia Ordinaria, (MediaLab Prado, Madrid) with an intervention titled: Hostitality, from tourism to domestic spaces, or rather, the colonization of non-economic matter.

In the year 2011 he realized the documentary CIE: L’altra faccia della sicurezza, an investigation about the situation in the Centers of identification and expulsion for migrants in Italy.  The last documentary, El Joven (2018), co-realized  with Clara Puente has been selected  to partecipate at the program  Visiona 2018,  (Huesca, Spain).

With his plastic work he has exhibited in several collective exhibitions, among the most significant: Polarisation (2017), La Joie (2015), Galeria Alain Nadaud, (Gammarth, Tunisia), Lincoln, Centro Criativo El Obrador (2022)  Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 2017 Artist in residence with the sculptor Kalled Zaki (Sadika Art Space, Tunisia), In 2018 Artist in residence at Museo de Arte Rupestre de Macao (Macao, Portugal) and in 2019 Artist in residence at the contemporary art program “Comunitaria”, Lincoln, Argentina.

In 2009 and 2010 he ideated and cordinated the Ischida Ventu project, an experience of art, meeting and intergenerational co-existence from different social strata.

Currently his artistic research reflects on the marginalization of subaltern worlds, the turistification of domestic space and the topology of violence.
